Lokmanya Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (LSPM) was conceived in 1989 when group of educationalists and social workers came together with a sole motto to improve the living and socio-economical condition of the peoples in Latur and surrounding districts of Maharashtra state of India. The movement of LSPM got new momentum when Mr. Shivaji Namdevrao Patil - the then prominent youth leader in Udgir town of Latur District felt that rural communities, despite being the target population of numerous large-budget national and international funding projects, were not really experiencing the kind of positive and life-changing impacts that they should have been, joined Lokmanya Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (LSPM) in 1995 and started full time working alongside the rural communities of Latur district to implement projects that make a difference to the lives of so many families: families that had previously lived without hope of a healthy life. Twenty seven years later, sleepless nights and many more rewarding days have passed, and Lokmanya Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (LSPM) is growing stronger and stronger. Friends, Sympathizers and Well wishers have come on board, helping Lokmanya Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (LSPM) to realize more and more dreams: not just those of Lokmanya Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (LSPM), but more importantly those of the children, parents, teachers and families in the rural communities where Lokmanya Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (LSPM) are able to work.
